Valorant Closed Beta Sign-Up

The Valorant closed beta will begin on April 7 in the United States, Canada, Europe, Russia and Turkey. In order to get a key, you’ll need to watch Twitch streams and have your Riot Games account linked to your Twitch. Your League of Legends or Legends of Runeterra account should work, but if you don’t have one here’s how to make a Riot Games account. You can make a Twitch account right here. To link the two together, go to the “Settings” tab on the upper right of your screen on the Twitch home page and go to the “Connections” bar. There, you’ll be able to input your Riot Games account.

Once the two are linked, there will be a select group of streamers who will be streaming Valorant. Watch those streams and you’ll have the chance to win a closed beta key. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only way to currently get one because Riot Games is trying to keep this testing phase small. Further trials, including an open beta, may be in the game’s future, giving more people a chance to get in.

Progress from the closed beta does not carry over to launch. The length of the closed beta is still undetermined, but the goal is to keep it short so that the game can launch in summer of 2020. Any Valorant Points, the game’s premium currency, purchased during the closed beta will carry over with an extra 20 percent added to thank you for investing.

Valorant is unique, combining the hero abilities of Overwatch with the close-quarters, municition purchasing of Counter Strike. Players have only seen glimpses and short gameplay loops, with only a handful of the full roster of Agents being revealed. With so much mystery and promise behind the title, it’s no wonder players are drooling over the chance to join the the closed beta.

Will you be watching Twitch streams to get into the closed beta or just wait until another testing phase starts? Tell us in the comments.
