UPDATE: 3:00 p.m. EDT- Looks like the servers are back up and running and you can play again.

Valorant Server Issues

The game’s launch day servers have had to undergo emergency maintenance, making it so players can’t log into Valorant. According to the server status on Riot Game’s website, as of 10:33 a.m. EST, the game is “unavailable” and it is unclear when it will be back up and running. This could be a quick fix that takes a few minutes to bounce back from, or it could take hours to figure out why the game won’t play properly. Added at 11:27 a.m. EDT, “all matchmade queues will be disabled shortly for a brief maintenance.”

If you see “error code 59” when trying to get in, that’s because the servers are still currently having issues.

The Valorant EU account tweeted that it would also be undergoing “emergency maintenance” to address “instability” that players were dealing with. Players in Europe have been saying on Twitter that they are faced with “error code 59” when they try to log in.

The North American Valorant account tweeted that they are “investigating players running into issues with game starts over the same period of time.”

Those who try to log in and get into the game will be unable to enter a lobby as long as maintenance is ongoing. The Practice range is the only mode that can be currently played, with Spike Rush and the main game mode totally inaccessible. For those who have been desperately trying to play Valorant and weren’t able to get into the closed beta, this has been a bit of a disappointment.

This is most likely just a mild speed bump for Valorant. The shooter touts stability as a major cornerstone, so making sure the game is as smooth as possible is crucial for success. If the games lag or ping tends to spike before Riot Games can manage it, that could completely destroy the hype that it has been building over the past month in closed beta.

If you want to play Valorant, you’ll have to wait a few more hours, unfortunately.
